أعلنت لحظات العُلا عن استضافة بطولة ريتشارد ميل العلا لبولو الصحراء، أول بطولة بولو تُقام على رمال الصحراء في حلبة فريدة من نوعها، بنسختها الثالثة على ملعب قرية الفروسية في العلا من 17 حتى 20 يناير 2024، لتمنح ضيوف العلا من عشاق الرياضة والترفيه تجربة استثنائية لا تنسى.
وتقام هذه البطولة بالشراكة مع الاتحاد السعودي للبولو، تزامناً مع فعاليات مهرجان شتاء طنطورة الشهير. وتتميز النسخة الثالثة من البطولة بكونها الأكبر والأفضل، حيث تركز على فنون الفروسية والمهارات الرياضية والسرعات العالية؛ فضلاً عن الأجواء التنافسية الاستثنائية. وتجمع البطولة مجموعة من أبرز اللاعبين والفرق العالمية، بمن فيهم أدولفو كامبياسو، أسطورة البولو الأرجنتيني، الذي ينضم إلى البطولة المنتظرة برفقة لاعبين من فريقه لا دولفينا، أحد أفضل فرق البولو على مستوى العالم. كما سيشارك نجل أدولفو، بوروتو كامبياسو، في البطولة المميزة، ليكمل مسيرة والده البطولية، وسينضم إليهم أيضاً بابلو ماك دونو، سفير ريتشارد ميل.
كما تشهد النسخة الثالثة تنافس ثمانية فرق في سلسلة من الجولات الحماسية على مدار أربعة أيام في قلب وديان العلا بتفاصيلها المذهلة. ويقود كل فريق أحد اللاعبين الدوليين مع مزيج من اللاعبين المحترفين من لاعبي البولو السعوديين والدوليين للفوز بكأس بولو الصحراء، ما يعد عشاق هذه اللعبة ببطولة مليئة بالإثارة والتشويق.
وتعليقاً على هذا الموضوع، قال رامي المُعلم، نائب الرئيس لقطاع إدارة وتسويق الوجهات السياحية في الهيئة الملكية لمحافظة العُلا: "شهدت البطولة منذ انطلاقها في عام 2020، إقبالاً كبيراً من الجماهير المحلية والعالمية لحضور أول بطولة بولو في الصحراء في العالم. ونتوقع أن تسجل البطولة المزيد من الأرقام القياسية هذا العام، ما يعد ضيوف العلا بتجربة رياضية عالمية المستوى. ونتطلع لانطلاق فعاليات المنافسة واكتشاف من سيكون الفائز في بطولة بولو الصحراء بنسختها الثالثة".

Polo, will be returning to AlUla with a fabulous third edition live from AlUla’s Equestrian Village between 17-20 January 2024.
Held in partnership with the Saudi Polo Federation (SPF) and taking place during the flagship festival of Winter at Tantora, this year’s Richard Mille Desert Polo will be bigger and better than ever. Some of the sport’s best players and biggest names are making their way to AlUla for a tournament unlike any other, including Argentinian player Adolfo Cambiaso, widely considered as the greatest polo player of all-time and makes his way to AlUla alongside his teammates from La Dolfina, one of the world’s best and most iconic polo teams. Furthermore, Adolfo's son, Poroto Cambiaso, will be participating in the distinctive tournament, following in his father's footsteps and carrying on his legacy. The Cambiaso legends will be joined also by Pablo Mac Donough, Richard Mille's Ambassador.
Featuring impeccable equestrianism, incredible skill, and high-speed action of the highest caliber, the 2024 edition sees eight teams face off in a series of adrenaline-packed matches over four days, set against the stunning backdrop of AlUla’s breathtaking canyons.
With each team boasting a line-up of one professional player alongside an international patron and another dignitary, formidable opposition and world-class competition stand between the eventual winners and their prize: the prestigious Desert Polo trophy.
